Psychological therapy for kids, teens, parents and families

who.

who.

I am a qualified, registered Psychologist experienced in working with children, young people, parents and the family. I have a specific interest and background in treating problems related to the impact of trauma, child/teen mood or anxiety symptoms, child/teen behaviour problems, family functioning difficulties, as well as parenting and family relationship issues. I believe it is important to consider a problem by looking inside oneself as a person, but also by looking outside at things that may affect the problem in some way.

I enjoy treating clients from a range of backgrounds and with a range of problems. There is nothing too big or too small to help with. I like to help my clients up, and to travel alongside them, overcoming difficulties together – side by side.

TAKE THE FIRST STEP

The first step is to send an email enquiry. Please explain a little about what you are facing. Please inform whether you prefer a call, SMS or email reply.

Let us know how we can help.

WHERE

Sessions occur in person in private meeting rooms, an Art studio for children/teens or sometimes via ‘Telehealth’ – that is by phone or through Zoom. These sessions are for situations where you could not get to the office, COVID lockdown, and other situations. We can discuss if this is an option for you.

GETTING STARTED

The first two sessions would be to meet you and get some background and information about your difficulty. The third session will be to let you know the outcome and to discuss and work out if we can help and how we can help. If we agree on a plan, then sessions will go ahead. If not – you will be given a short summary of the assessment.

PAYMENT

Sessions are priced at 170$ per hour, but if you have a Mental Health Care plan, Medicare will cover nearly half of that.  Getting a Mental Health Care plan is easy. Just see your GP and explain your problems, then bring the plan to your appointment.

If the Mental Health Care plan is for a Child, then the child has to be in the session. For parent only sessions – this has to be a separate Mental Health Care plan if you would like the Medicare rebate.

After the session you will be emailed an Invoice and you pay into our Account on the same day. Once payment has been made you will be emailed a Receipt which you then take to Medicare to claim your rebate.
